Saint Nicolas Hotel derives its name from the patron of Beit Jala St. Nicolas, an archbishop from Anatolia, at that time, who visited the holy land in the 5th century, and believed to have lived during his stay in a cave in Beit Jala which is now lies under the Orthodox church of Beit Jala
